Pitch IQ is made by Spaikz LLC. This page describes what the game does with your information. It is short because the game collects very little.

What we collect

The iPhone, iPad and Android apps have no accounts and no sign-in, and collect nothing that identifies you. Like the website, they count which screens and tools get used, anonymously (see Anonymous usage counts). You can turn that off in Settings → Privacy.

On the website you can choose to sign in with Google, to buy coaches and get them back in any browser where you sign in. Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, which receives your Google account's name, email address and profile picture and keeps a record that you signed in. We use it only for your coaches (see Buying on the website); we don't send you email, share it or use it for anything else. You can play without signing in, and you can ask us to delete the record at any time (see Contact).

Network use

The iPhone, iPad and Android apps contain the whole game, including every sound and picture. Their only network calls are the anonymous usage counts described below, sent to our own database, and the store's own, when you buy a coach or tap Restore purchases: Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPad, Google Play on Android. That connection is between your device and the store, and we never see it.

The website version is served by Google Firebase Hosting, which keeps the standard logs any web server keeps (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to run and protect the service. We don't use them to identify or track anyone. The website also sends the anonymous usage counts described below to our own database, talks to Google if you choose to sign in, to RevenueCat and Stripe if you buy a coach, and to our own database again if you enter a code.

Where your data lives

Your scores and record by position, your settings, the coach you've chosen, your free tries and the coaches you own are stored on your own device (in the app's storage, or your browser's local storage on the web). They are not uploaded anywhere. A coach bought on the website is also recorded by RevenueCat against your sign-in, so it comes back when you sign in on another browser. Deleting the app, or clearing the site's data in your browser, deletes them. In Settings, "Reset stats" clears your scores at any time.

Anonymous usage counts

To see which parts of the game are used and fix what isn't working, Pitch IQ counts how it's used and sends those counts to our own Google Cloud Firestore database. It's not Google Analytics or any other analytics company, and nothing is used for advertising or shared with anyone.

What's sent: which screens are opened and for how long (for example the start screen, a question, the summary, the coaches sheet or Settings), how each decision went (best option or not), which coach was coaching and whether it was a free try, when a purchase or Restore purchases is started and how it ended (bought, cancelled or failed, never the price or payment details), whether a code worked, and the text of any app error. With them go: a random number the game makes when it's first opened (it isn't linked to your Google account, even when you're signed in, or to your Apple ID, Google Play account or anything else, and we can't tell who it belongs to), the platform and game version, the OS version, phone, tablet or computer, the device language and time zone, and whether a coach has been bought.

What's never sent: your name, email or Google account, anything you type, your location, contacts, advertising ID or device model. We don't keep IP addresses with the counts.

We add the counts up by day. The raw counts are deleted after 60 days; only the daily totals are kept.

To turn it off, open Settings → Privacy and switch off "Share anonymous usage". The game then deletes its random number and anything not yet sent. On the web, a browser's Global Privacy Control signal turns it off too.

Advertising

There is none. Pitch IQ contains no advertising, no crash reporter and no third-party trackers of any kind.

Purchases

In the apps, coaching styles are unlocked with one-time purchases handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. The app asks the store what your account already owns so it can unlock what you paid for, including after a reinstall or on another device. There are no subscriptions, consumables, loot boxes or in-game currency.

Buying on the website

On pitchiq.spaikz.com, coaches are bought after signing in with Google, so they follow you to any browser where you sign in. A coach bought on the website doesn't unlock it in the iPhone, iPad or Android app.

Codes

If we gave you a Pitch IQ code, you can enter it on the website, under "Have a code?" in the coach sheet. The website checks it with our own Google Cloud Firestore database. It sends a fingerprint of the code, not the code itself, and adds one use with the time. We keep who each code was made for, how often it has been used and when it was last used. Nothing about your device or browser is stored with it, though Google, which runs the database, sees your IP address as it does for any web request. The date the code runs until is kept in your browser. Codes are on the website only, not in the apps.

Children

Pitch IQ is suitable for all ages. The anonymous usage counts in the apps and on the website contain nothing that identifies a person, so there is no personal information of a child for us to hold. The website's optional Google sign-in is subject to Google's own age rules, and buying on the website is for adults (18 or over). It has no advertising, no chat and no way to communicate with other players. Purchases go through the store's own parental controls.

Changes

If a future version adds accounts to the apps, online features or anything else that collects information, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the app will tell you what changed.
